Ultrasounds

An ultrasound is the next step after a positive pregnancy test — and the only way to see what’s really happening. At True Health, limited ultrasounds are free, confidential, and performed by our trained sonographer, so you can move forward with real answers instead of guesses.

How Does An Ultrasound Work?

An ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of your uterus and the pregnancy. Your first ultrasound, done in the first trimester, confirms three important things.

Gestational Age

Your gestational age is simply how far along you are in your pregnancy. Knowing this is essential — it affects what options are available to you, what to expect physically, and what your next steps look like. An ultrasound is the most accurate way to determine this.

Location

Not all pregnancies implant where they should. An ultrasound confirms that your pregnancy is inside your uterus, where it can safely grow. If it isn't — known as an ectopic pregnancy — it requires immediate medical attention.

Viability

Viability means whether your pregnancy is able to continue and progress. The ultrasound checks for a heartbeat and looks for signs that the pregnancy is developing as it should. This information is critical before making any decisions about your pregnancy.

Considering Abortion?

If you’re considering abortion, you first need to know how far along you are — gestational age determines which procedures are even available to you. An obstetrical ultrasound is the only way to accurately confirm both the age and location of the pregnancy.

Our medical team will review your results with you and answer your questions, so whatever you decide, you’re deciding with full information.

Schedule A Free Ultrasound

If your pregnancy test is positive, True Health provides a limited ultrasound* at no cost to you. We’ll confirm how far along you are, make sure the pregnancy is in your uterus, and measure the heart rate.

To get started, schedule a pregnancy test appointment — our client care team will arrange your early ultrasound with our sonographer.
